Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Uluru - Uluru Sunset Tour

Arrive in Uluru in the morning or around midday and catch the shuttle bus to the resort before beginning exploring Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. In the afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel where you will taken by coach to the sunset viewing area. Enjoy nibbles and a glass of wine as the sun sinks over the western horizon and the evening sky brings out the many shades of colour for which Uluru is famous. Departs: Daily 75 minutes prior to sunset from Ayers Rock Resort Returns: 20 minutes approximately after sunset to Ayers Rock Resort .

Day 2: Around Uluru - Uluru Sunrise Tour & Afternoon Kata Tjuta Guided Walk

Rise early this morning to travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area. Watch the first rays of dawn whilst enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. For those with a good level of fitness there is the opportunity to climb Uluru. Alternatively, non-climbers can choose to take a peaceful stroll along the Mala Walk (non guided), which winds among the bloodwood trees alongside Uluru. After the climb, join your Driver/Guide for a tour around the base of Uluru. Travel by coach to the Mutitjulu Walk where you will be escorted to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area as your Driver/Guide points out some native flora and explains the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Visit the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can learn about Aboriginal culture and see Aboriginal arts and crafts, before returning to your hotel. Departs: Daily 90 minutes prior to sunrise from Ayers Rock Resort Returns: 12.00pm approximately to Ayers Rock Resort

After Lunch back at the resort you will be picked up to travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way, stop at a lookout for a panoramic view of the southern side of Kata Tjuta. Continue on before arriving at the base of Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. In the late afternoon you travel back to the Uluru sunset viewing area. Witness and photograph the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset whilst enjoying nibbles and a glass of wine. Departs: Daily 2.30pm (Mar - Oct) and 3.30pm (Nov - Feb) from Ayers Rock Resort Returns: 20 minutes approximately after sunset to Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 3: Depart Uluru

A free morning to relax and sleep in or laze about the pool. For the more adventurous take the opportunity to wake up early and experience another crisp morning and sunrise around the Rock. Depending on your interests and what time you are departing feel free to include another sunrise tour (extra cost). (Package includes transfers from the resort back to the airport).
